Who's Who at the Rescue

Simone Clasen, CFRE

Vice President

I was born and raised in Berlin, Germany, and moved to the United States in 1982, where I earned my B.S. in Liberal Arts with emphasis in Foreign Languages in 1995 from California State University Northridge. Shortly after moving to Fort Collins in 1998, I knew that Northern Colorado would be my home where I would raise my two daughters, Natalya and Katrina, and my two adopted cats Charlie and Sadie. I decided to become a U.S. citizen in 2001, not because I had to, but because I wanted to contribute and vote in this beautiful country.

I have been interested in animal welfare for as long as I can remember, adopting cats since I was very little and even immigrating with my cat, Carly, to the United States where he grew up to be 22 years old. I strongly believe in the mission of FCCRSNC, which is to work toward the well-being of cats and dogs in our community and to reduce pet overpopulation. When a request was made for me to interview as a board member for this organization I was immediately impressed with the dedication and commitment of everyone at the shelter and clinic, and I am honored to be able to assist in any way that I can.

I currently work at Colorado State University as the Associate Vice President of Philanthropic Operations. Prior to that I worked for the College of Natural Sciences for 17 years, most recently as the Executive Director of Development. In my current position as AVP, I build relationships and generate philanthropic support from alumni, foundations, corporations, and friends for students, faculty, and programs.
