February is Spay/Neuter Awareness Month!
Every year approximately 6-8 million unwanted animals enter US shelters,
and every year approximately 3-4 million (50%!) of those animals are euthanized.
However, we KNOW that education about spay/neuter along with resources for
low-cost and free spay/neuter can end this trajedy.
It makes sense that FCCRSNC is celebrating Spay/Neuter Awareness Month in some big ways, and we hope you will help us. You will find by reading below that during the month of February it is VERY easy for you to get involved and save lives in whatever way meets your needs.
World Spay Day Event on Tuesday, February 26. $20 Spay/Neuter Procedures!
In honor of World Spay Day 2013, we are offering $20 spay/neuter procedures on both dogs and cats! This special price is for animals that are scheduled for surgery on Tuesday, February 26. We have the capacity to alter up to 65 pets, and appointments are required.
This special price is possible due to the volunteer services of Dr. Meghann Berglund and Dr. Cynthia Johnson (two EXCELLENT surgeons!) and the generosity of our event sponsors Poudre Pet & Feed Supply and Six Dog T-Shirt Co.
We will be raising funds for this special event with our "Spay it Forward" fundraiser that you can read more about below.
Appointments for our World Spay Day 2013 event can be made by calling our clinic at: 970-484-1861.

Spay it Forward Fundraiser
In an effort to make our 2013 World Spay Day event a smashing success, we are
asking our clinic clients and supporters to make a donation of any amount to help
cover the expenses of altering 65 animals at only $20. The fundraiser will run through
the entire month of February.
Donors at any level will have the opportunity to hang a "Spay it Forward" message on our clinic's wall. The message may simply contain the name of the donor, or perhaps be in memory or honor of a loved pet. Donors that give $15 or more will receive one of our limited-edition "Don't Litter" t-shirts (see design to the right).
Any money raised in excess of what is needed for our Spay Day event will go towards shelter kitty spay/neuter costs.
Donations to Spay it Forward can be made in our clinic, in our shelter, online, or via mail.
Giving Tree Fundraiser - Spread the Love, Save a Life!
Wondering what to get your kitty-loving sweetheart for Valentine's Day this year?
How about buying them a valentine to hang on the Giving Tree in the lobby of our
shelter? Valentine donations start at only $2, and donors of $15 or more will receive
one of our limited-edition "Don't Litter" t-shirts.
Of course if you don't have a human sweetheart, you can always hang a valentine in honor of your beloved pet!
All Valentine's Day messages will also be displayed on our website throughout the month of February, and all Giving Tree donors will be entered into a drawing for a fun prize.
100% of the funds raised through our Giving Tree will go towards shelter kitty spay/neuter expenses.
Donations to our Giving Tree can be made in our shelter, online, or by mail.
Vote for Jake in the HSUS Pet Pageant
Our well-known & much-loved resident therapy-cat is asking for your support.
Jake needs your daily vote in the Humane Society of the United States Pet Pageant!
The pageant runs until March 15, and if Jake keeps his current ranking of first place
until then he will designate a $1,000 grant from the HSUS to Fort Collins Cat Rescue &
Spay/Neuter Clinic! It is FREE to vote and takes only a moment of your time.
You can also enter your own kitty (or dog) into the pageant if you would like! There are several different contest categories and lots of great prizes.
The winner in each category will have the opportunity to designate a $1,000 grant to an eligible nonprofit animal welfare group of their choice ( 25 groups are eligible including FCCRSNC). With your help we could potentially receive up to $5,000 in grant monies!
