Other Animals in Need
Because we are a no-kill
shelter with a limited amount of space, there will be times when we cannot take
in other animals unless they are in a life-threatening situation. For owners
who are looking to surrender a kitty because of changes in family situation or
other reasons, we do maintain a waiting list. Owners on the waiting list may
have their kitty's picture and description posted on this page. For prospective
adopters - please remember these kitties are not at the shelter and we make no
claim as to their health or the status of their medical upkeep. If you are
interested in one of these kitties you must contact the owner listed on this
Topper spent his first 10 years as an "only child"
and faithful companion to an older man. When his
person died, he came to live with us. Our intent
was to be Topper's forever home, however he is
not comfortable with the other pets in our home.
We would like to re-home him to a man who has
no other pets so that he can be happy. Topper
is an indoor only cat, he has had extensive dental
work. He is very healthy, and has silky fur that
he likes brushed. He is the perfect companion
for an older man who would like a friend to watch
football with! He loves to play with cat-catchers.
Please help Topper find his Forever Home.
Captain Breakfast is 5-8 year old Himalayan/snowshoe/black point. He is most definitely a special needs cat.
He has been in and out of shelters for the past 3 years. He is believe to have been abused in previous homes and
is skittish around men. He is declawed, microchipped and neutered. He is currently missing a lot of his hair
because it had to be shaved due to matting. He is missing most of his teeth and needs an extraction surgery asap
to get the rest of them removed. He needs in a home with no children, and no other pets. He is very loving and
just wants a stable home where he can get lots of one-on-one attention.
Oscar Wilde is extremely affectionate! His favorite activities are rubbing his face against yours
and sunbathing. He drools when you pet him because he loves it so much! You can pet him anywhere, ears,
belly, hind-end, he has never been aggressive so I think he would be great with kids. Good with males and
females. Afraid of dogs and hides until he's comfortable, but just is an attention hog! Please help me
find him a good home, he is such a sweet heart and I've been trying for weeks! Please contact me anytime.
Oscar's parent can be contacted at
Maya was an owner surrender cat to Larimer County SPCA with a litter of kittens. While at a foster
home she nursed 2 more litters. We ended up adopting her and one of the kittens. She is a very sweet,
affectionate cat who is between 4 and 6 years old with no health conditions, other than being VERY fat
and lazy. She is a lap cat and will sit on you until you put her down and she will then try to get
back on you. She loves kids and is very gentle. She does not do well with other animals, though.
Eddie is a big fluff of love. He is a grey/white long hair indoor domestic cat.
He has been neutered and front claws are removed, yearly shots are up to date. He has
been an exclusive indoor cat. We adopted him 4 years ago and he has added joy to our
family. We are now adding a two legged child to our life, and Eddie does not care for
young children. Eddie would be great with older children, and adults. He has been living
with another cat for the four years, and they get along and play. We also have a young dog,
which he tolerates, but would probably prefer to not be around. I think he would be okay with
an older dog that has a little less energy. We want to find a loving and happy home for our Eddie.
Kallie really is the coolest cat you'll ever meet. This five-year-old spayed female gets along with dogs
and kids, is a perfect litter box user, and would be a great addition to any home. If you're looking for an
outgoing, affectionate kitty to greet you at the door when you get home, she's your girl! She loves being
brushed, playing with toys, and making sure your lap stays warm and toasty. Her current owners would love to
keep her, but she deserves a home that can give her love and attention. P.S. Though she looks pretty "big-boned"
in the picture, she's no fat cat, she's active and outgoing, just having a big hair day

It breaks my heart that my little Cheyenne no longer is able to be with me due to logistical reasons.
I am looking for someone to permanently adopt her.
My name is GIZMO and my owner rescued me from the Boulder Humane Society because, well, Iím handsome (right?), and because she had a job for me to doóevict the mice from her house. I did my job successfully and even expanded to the greenbelt behind her house. Unfortunately, the neighbors donít appreciate my hunting prowess so Iím looking for a farm where I can be respected for what I do bestóhunt.
Penny is a loving, 4 yr old, female Birman/mix breed who loves humans and cuddling under your chin.
She is also content to sit near you and keep you company. She is a curious, playful, independent cat. I
am looking to re-home Penny as we have a 10 month old baby and Penny isn't getting enough attention from
her humans. She loves humans, and leans into my 10-month old when he reaches out to her. She is a dominant
personality and would do best with an experienced cat-owner. Penny plays well with my other cat and mostly
ignores my dog. Because she is a dominant cat, her introduction to other pets needs to be managed (she gets
along fine with the other pets in our home).
Sophie is the sweetest kitty I've ever owned. She is six years old but barely larger than a kitten.
On October 4, 2011 she was attacked by a stray dog. He broke her spine and I didn't think she'd live the 5 minute
trip to the vet. She did live. The vet (Lisa Eskridge in Canon City, Colorado) took her X-Ray and discovered her
spine was snapped. She had lost mobility in her back legs and tail. She took her X-Ray to a clinic in Colorado
Springs and they said, "She needs immediate surgery or to be put down. She'll never walk again if she doesn't
have surgery." Sophie did not have surgery, however, she started to try to walk again within a week.
Jacksen is a 7 year old female Black Tortie and a sweet girl! We are very sad to say that we need to find
a loving home for her. She is a skittish cat with an adorable personality! Once she gets to know you (which may take a bit)
she is very kind and will give her owner unconditional love. Her favorite spot to sleep is on my side, and she passes
back and forth on the bathroom counter as I get ready in the morning; back and forth, back and forth, purring incessantly
the entire morning! And where ever there is a laptop being used she will find it and insist on sitting in your lap as you type!
Chaos turned 8 years old this April. She is a white/gray, beautifully marked female cat.
She is full of love and almost demands attention. She is a great companion to have around. She
is good around other cats (once she gets used to them) but was raised with dogs and adores them.
(I think there are days where she thinks she is a dog) She is great around people of all ages, she
is a very social cat that loves company. She has mainly been an inside cat but does like to go adventure
out in the day time. She has been spayed. Chaos needs a new loving home ASAP. We are preparing for our
first baby in 8 weeks. Please email Jennifer at
CHAMISE is a beautiful, healthy, 9-year-old cat we have had since she was a kitten. Although she is and has
always been extremely gentle and timid with us and anyone she spent time around, we cannot keep her because she has
been aggressive with our 2-year-old son when she felt threatened. With another baby at home about to start crawling,
we are worried something similar could happen.
This is Mika (Meeka) she's a 10 year old long haired spayed and microchipped Tortie.
Mika is a sweet, lazy, mainly indoor (and after a bit outdoor as well) and sometimes sassy
cat (hisses with no biting or scratching of any kind). She's talkative when she hasn't seen
you all day and loves attention. She isn't much of a lap cat but will lay right next to you
for hours. She'd be a great companion for someone who doesn't have other animals, her previous
owners said she was okay around non-agressive dogs (basically ignored them) but I've never
had her around any other animals except when a cat wandered in and then she was in protect
the house mode.
This is Charlie AKA Chuck. Chuck is one of the many stray/feral cats that I fix and feed and has taken up
residence on my porch in protest of being homeless. Chuck is super friendly and ready for the good life of
living with a family. He is a big boy who is neutered and had his rabies shot last year when he got fixed.
He gets along well with other animals (ok with cats, shy but stands his ground with dogs)and loves to be petted.
I wish I could take in this wonderful boy with lots of years and love to give, but have too many animals already.
is a nine-year-old grey female (spayed) cat who also goes by Kit-ten. She is de-clawed in the front and is
an indoor cat (though she loves going outside). She currently lives with two dogs and another cat and gets
along well with them. Sometimes she even teases the dogs by walking in front of them and then running off
as though she wants them to chase her. She is usually shy with new people but warms up to those she sees
regularly (and sometimes to strangers that she just connects with immediately). Shadow likes to sleep on
her kitty bed, but she also curls up on our laps for love. She loves treats, canned cat food and kitty toys
that she can bat at. She likes to drink water out of the faucet or out of a kitty water fountain. We need to
re-home Shadow because we have a new baby who is showing signs of being allergic to cats. If you are interested
in adopting Shadow, please e-mail Ginger at GingerErickson@yahoo.com.
Paisley is a 7 year old calico sweetie. She is spayed and microchipped and has been an indoor cat her entire life.
She is extremely shy at first, but will warm up to her "person" and just wants to cuddle and be loved. She loves sitting
in the sunshine and "talking" to the birds outside. She is not declawed, but I have used Softpaws on her since she was a kitten.
Meet Zelda (grey cat) and Gizmo (has an orange stripe on head... or a mo-hawk as we call it) who are sisters. These are two wonderful cats that we would love to keep but my wife is allergic to them and
it seems to be getting worse. They are about 3 years old with all of their shots and are up-to-date on them as well. They are both spayed and are de-clawed in front and back, so they should stay indoors. They both love
to sit in window sills and watch the action outside, though when given opportunities to go outside they never seem that interested.
Meet George and Ringo. These guys were both rescued by a wonderful sweet young girl first out on
her own. Ringo was found abandoned in North Fort Collins off of a dirt
road and George came from a former employer who knew someone who didn't
want him anymore. They were raised together and are bonded. They both are neutered and up to date on shots.
Jasper is a two-year-old, neutered and microchipped short-hair male. He
is fantastic and gentle with young children (both with our own two kids
and visitors), all-around extremely sociable, hilarious, and very loving.
He enjoys high places, affection and playtime, as well as napping in front
of open windows and doors, on folded blankets or your newspaper. He is an
energetic participant in a game of fetch or just general toy-chasing.
This is Taylor. She is 12 years old and should be in a home with a single person or an older couple. She is an indoor cat but loves the sun rays and fresh air.
Taylor lives in Loveland with 3 other male cats who she doesn't get along with. She needs a good home. Please call for more info at 720-273-3318 or FCCR at 970-484-8516.
I'm looking for a new home for my loving kitty.
